Two Live Bands Go To “Heavy Metal”Battle in Bill and Ted Installment

 

Starting March 30, New Millennium Theatre Company is taking audiences on an—“EXCELLENT”—

adventure onstage in We Are Wyld Stallyns or: How Bill and Ted Save the World; the next chapter in the classic film series.  Performing at Theater Wit, 1229 Belmont Ave., through April 22, NMTC’s latest parody features two of the world’s most popular fictional heavy metal acts live on stage at the same time! 

 

We Are Wyld Stallyns is the Jersey Boys of metal; combining the energy of a rock concert with an inventive story straight out of VH1 Behind the Music.  Writer and Director Meagan Piccochi calls it, “A power and death metal musical. ”Picocchi has already received critical acclaim for her other music endeavors which have included, Cubicle: An Office Space Musical and the Texas Chainsaw Musical among others.  She has had a desire to bring Bill and Ted back to life since enjoying the series as a young woman.  

 

The new play picks up where the films leave off documenting Bill and Ted’s “married with children” life style and meteoric rise to fame that will ultimately bring peace to the planet.    But before “rock ‘n’ roll can save our souls”, Bill and Ted are faced with a new nemesis— Creeping Rusty Meat; an emerging death metal outfit with a dark secret from the past that could result in the boys’ undoing.   They’ll need their mentor Rufus and the help of some …historical friends to keep the “bogusness” in check.  Audiences have never experienced an epic battle like this before—so hold on to your socks.  It’s “Metal vs. Metal” with the world at stake when both bands face off live on stage.
