The critically acclaimed Shakesploitation is back! New Millennium Theatre Company shows you how badass the Bard can be! Shakesploitation!, is three original parodies of classic Shakespeare plays. ‘Grand Theft Othello’, a Blaxploitation take on Shakespeare’s Othello. ‘Romeo and Juliet II: Apocalypse’ picks up right where the original tale left off with the star-crossed lovers returning as a pair of flesh-eating zombies! Finally, its tons of sword-fighting, blood spraying, poorly dubbed kung-fu action in the classic tale of revenge: ‘Ninja Hamlet: Burning Fist of Denmark.’
The show will run August 18-September 24 2006, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00 pm. All performances are at National Pastime Theatre, 4139 N Broadway between Montrose and Irving Park. Tickets are $15 general admission ($10 for students with valid student ID) and can be purchased online at www.nmtchicago.org
