On September 23, New Millennium Theatre Company (NMTC) kicks off the Halloween season with a salute to classic camp-horror filmmakers Roger Corman and William Castle in Scott Janus: Monster Hunter!, an original play by company member Paul Czarnowski. Seeking to re-create the horror movie-going experiences of the late 1950’s early ’60’s, the production will feature the same famous, old school and over the top promotional tropes sure to satisfy any cult classic enthusiast.
After a series of blood draining “accidents” in Sleepy Small-Town USA, youn
g Eddie Edderson begins to suspect his neighbor, Mr. Nosferatsenberger might be more than just a simple man raking leaves—at night—in a cape. Desperate, Eddie turns to the classified ads in his favorite comic books and finds Scott Janus, Monster Hunter. With friends Bev, Roger and some “help” from local law enforcement, Eddie and Scott will wage war with the forces of e
vil and do everything they can to defeat the things that go bump in the night. Even if they have to die trying!
From “Feel-o-Vision” and “Smell-o-Vision” to “trained medical staff on hand to treat those overcome by fright”. It promises to be a night of theatre that folks won’t soon forget!
