New Millennium Theatre Company will open its Summer Season with Scooby-Doo Mystery Theatre II, playing July 6th –August 18th, Friday and Saturday at 8 pm.
Scooby-Doo Mystery Theatre II, the sequel to last summer’s smash hit, is a script and improvisation based experience taking episodes from the classic TV series and giving them a decidedly modern twist. Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy & Scooby are back, bigger and better than ever with all-new mysteries and surprise special guest stars. “Go Away Ghost Ship” brings the gang face to face with the Ghost of Redbeard the Pirate as they try to solve a nautical mystery. In “Mystery Mask Mix-Up”, the gang must rescue Daphne from the ghost of an ancient Chinese warlord and his zombie henchmen, before it’s too late. Scooby-Doo Mystery Theatre II takes these classic episodes and brings out all the little details that everyone knew was going on behind the scenes, but that the television audience never saw. This is definitely NOT your kids’ Scooby-Doo.
The cast of Scooby-Doo Mystery Theatre II includes Bryan Dawidowicz, Heather Good, Zenna Gustafson, Brett Coy, Tom Seymour, Keith Cavanaugh, Jonathan Webb, Victor Solorzano, Jonathan Peck, Amanda Krupman, Patrick Sterling, Ben Powell, Thurston Cobb and Dale Jackson. Directed by Chad Wise, Assistant Directed by Allison Schaffer, Costume Design by Martti Nelson.
All performances are at the Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N. Broadway, between Addison and Irving Park. Performances run July 6th through August 18th. Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm. Tickets are $10 for students/ seniors, $15 general admission and are available online at nmtchicago.org, at the door or call 773-743-9681.
