Director’s Note

Sequels. They can exceed the original (Godfather II, Batman Returns), or they can fall sadly short (Godfather III, Batman Forever). You’d think they’d be easy to make, right? Oh, no. You’ve got to be bigger and better than the original, while keeping the characters fresh and new to people that didn’t see the first one, but not so much that you alienate the hardcore fans, and avoid retreading the same old concepts from before but keep what made the original fun and unique in the first place. WHEW! We have worked very hard to achieve all of the above. But here’s what you need to know: For me, there was always something about Scooby-Doo that didn't add up. If there's no such things as ghosts, how can there be a dog that talks? Then it hit me. What if Scooby wasn't really a dog? What if he was just the 5th member of their gang, but due to some outside... influence... they saw him, interacted with him as if he were a great dane? That’s the scoop. And we’ve got probably THE greatest surprise guests of the Chicago Theatre season. So enjoy!
